Girls, Last Night, I Had A Dream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Patti LuPone Was In It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                My dreams come out of nowhere.  There is no rhyme or reason.

                                In the dream, I was in a play, with Patti and about a dozen other actors.  All I can recall is that it was NOT a musical.  We had our first rehearsal, which went well enough, but when it was over, Patti gathered us all around and said, "Gang, come on over to my place.  We are going to fix this mess!"

                                  So, all of us went over to Patti's, who was a gracious hostess.  She proceeded to give us advice on how we should play our roles.  To me, she said, "Be yourself when you are on stage.  Like the way you are offstage, or on your blog.  Be yourself as the character, not the other way around."  I felt empowered.

                                  After giving fellow cast members their advice, Patti explained to us what she was going to do.  Some questioned it all, but Patti said it would work.

                                  The next day, we rehearsed the play the way Patti said.  The director thought it was great.  I went up to Patti, and thanked her, but also asked how the director had not known his direction had been completely changed.

                                   Patti answered, "Darling, most directors are idiots.  I have been doing this with all my shows!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

                                      I have to wonder how much truth there is to this.
