It has to be seen, if you haven't, girls! A Broadway play adapted to film, with much of its original cast. Wait till you see Nancy Kelly drop the glass, and hysterically cry, "MONICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" And that is only early in the film.
This film, about a disturbed murderess who is a child shocked audiences in 1956. Today, nothing is thought of it, as it is constantly talked about all the time.
Three of the film's players received Oscar nominations--Nancy Kelly, for repeating her TONY Award winning Broadway performance, Patty McCormack for her chilling stage portrayal of the homicidal child, and Eileen Heckart as the grief-stricken mother of one of McCormack's victims. Her performance is fascinating, because, though drunk, she has all the pieces laid out; she just can't quite put the puzzle together.
With its mixture of drama and camp, "The Bad Seed" cannot be missed.
I am telling you, girls, my mother and I could have played it on Broadway!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See you at 7PM!!!!!!!!!!!!! Baby Gojira is so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I KNEW a kid like that, in the sixties.
ReplyDeleteWonder what became of her…
Victoria, How interesting. My sister and her husband had a time with their son Ian--really his son, hers by marriage. He never harmed anyone, but I always feared he had the potential to do so.
