Oh, My God!!!!!!!!! Girls, You Have GOT To Be Kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Michael Douglas as Liberace?????????? Can you believe it, darlings?????????
Nevertheless, it is true!!!!!!!!!! In a forthcoming film, entitled, "Behind The Candelabra," Douglas will be playing the camp piano impresario, while Matt Damon will portray his gay lover, Scott Thorson.
This could be the most abominable music biopic since Kevin Spacey as Bobby Darrin in "Beyond The Sea." In fact, I am predicting now it will be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Michael Douglas, who, in the Eighties, was Mr. Every Straight Man, thanks to his turns in "Fatal Attraction," "Basic Instinct," and "Falling Down," as Liberace??????????? Even in his better films, he is so stiff and wooden, how is he going to be able to camp it up???????????
Damon has an easier time of it; besides, having played in "The Talented Mr. Ripley," he can easily slip into the role of a gay man with ease. But Michael Douglas???????????
Watch out, kiddies!!!!!!!!! This could be the bomb of the year!!!!!!!!!!
Remember that wonderful film of 2005, "Good Night, And Good Luck," where that brilliant actor, David Strathairn, portrayed Edwin R. Murrow?????? And the scene enacting the interview with Liberace????????? The look of disgust on Staithairn's face when the interview ended was priceless!!!!!!!!!!! And it is the same look I am giving right now to the idea of Michael Douglas in this role!!!!!!!!!!!
This one will go straight to DVD, loves!!!!!!!!! Mark my words!!!!!!!!!!!!
