This Is Some Day, Darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today, December 8, just happens to be the Feast Of The Immaculate Conception!!!!!!!!!!! But, it is also something else, as this picture can attest.
Fifty nine years ago tonight, just 20 days after my birth, "The Bad Seed" opened on Broadway, at the 46th Street (usually a musical house!) Theatre!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Hirschfeld drawing is a classic! As can be seen from the picture above, the only cast member who survives today is Patty McCormack, who played that juvenile sociopath we all love, Rhoda Penmark!!!!!!! Wonder how Patty feels about it all today???????????????
I am convinced this it was some press agent's joke to pen THIS play--dealing with a mother discovering for herself that her seemingly innocent little girl is a cold blooded killer--on the Feast Of The Immaculate Conception!!!
Just like me, darlings!!!!!! Heh, Heh, Heh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The BVM, on the other hand, must be royally pissed. Or maybe she actually got a kick out of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, curl up today, rel;ax and remember both Mary and "The Bad Seed!!!!!!!!!!!"
I'll give you a basket of hugs, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
