If Five Broadway Theaters Can Be Dimmed For Joan Rivers, How About Dimming The Lights For Victoria Mallory????????????????

I am all for tradition, darlings, but sometimes the rules just have to be bent.  When 35 out of the 40 Broadway theaters--only 5 of the Jujamcyn Theaters consenting--decided not to dim the lights in honor of Joan Rivers, I was outraged!  Joan was as much a part of this town and Broadway; name one actor or stage crew member, who, at some point in their career, did not cross paths with Joan.  I bet they are few and far between.

Thank God the Jujamcyns had the gumption to go against the grain.  So, at 6:45PM this evening, their theaters will be dimmed, in honor of Joan Rivers. As she deserves to be.

Get these old fuddy duddy rule mongers into the glue factories they belong in!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meanwhile, has anything been mentioned about doing the same, in honor of the late Victoria Mallory??????????  Well, I am starting a groundswell now.  I am sure the Theater Queens and Sondheim groupies would agree with me, as well as husband Mark Lambert and daughter Ramona.  Victoria's soaring voice was a Broadway treasure; she graced the stage with iconic moments in two legendary musicals, and for that she should be honored!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Broken hearts, and broken lights, Eli Wallach once remarked, in a famous commercial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Now, how about honoring hearts broken by these passings; performers who made the lights of Broadway brighter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get with the program, you bitches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
