                                                   "The Addams Family started,
                                                     When Uncle Fester farted,
                                                     Morticia is retarded.
                                                     The Addams Family!
                                                     (Snap! Snap!)"
                                                      --Sixties Childhood Rhyme

Now, why would I be thinking of Bonita Granville, at a time like this?  Listen boys and girls, and learn!

Ken Weatherwax, so perfectly cast as Pugsley, on ABC's Sixties sitcom, "The Addams Family," passed away either last Saturday or Sunday, in his home in Box Canyon, Brother. He was found Sunday by his half brother, Joey D. Viera.

The cause of death was a heart attack, which is disturbing, as he was only 59.  But, then, the childhood obesity that made him ideal casting as Pugsley never seemed to leave him  Considering that he was born on September 29, 1955, he was, technically, my age, in that we would have graduated high school and college in the same years. Though I was born in 1954, most of the classmates I was in school with were born in 1955.

After Pugsely, acting jobs dried up.  He spent his adult career working behind the scenes, as a grip on many a film set.  He retired a few years ago, for medical reasons.  No wife or children.

Now, as to Bonita Granville.  Ken was the nephew of Rudd Weatherwax, owner and trainer of Lassie, and both knew Jack Wrather, who worked with the canine star, and was married, from 1947, until his death, to Bonita Granville. So , Ken is connected to Bonita, darlings.

Ken's passing is too soon, tragic, but he will be remembered by all. Though dying young, he fared better than Lisa Loring, who played his sister, Wednesday, on the show.  This slattern miss, then a Goth version of Margaret O'Brien, worked briefly  in soap operas, when she grew up, but, I believe later went on to do porno films, and is now plying her way on Los Angeles streets as a prostitute!  What else can you expect from a female, drug addicted has been?

Rest In Peace, Ken!  You will ALWAYS be Pugsley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
