We Have A Lot Of Processing To Do, Tonight, Girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tonight, we come to the end of "The Slap," and I, for one, am going to miss it, because, whether you are with Rosie or not, the acting, and the cast, has been one of the finest to grace television in recent years. With Melissa George and Mackenzie Leigh, especially, it is going to be hard to see them without thinking, first, or Rosie and Connie.

                                         What will happen to Rosie?

                                           Will she get justice?

How will Connie handle it all?

Will Harry be exposed, for the sexist bastard he is???????????

                                                Will Sandi divorce him?

And, most of all, how will it all end???????????

As I have said elsewhere, the last two episodes seem to be radically deviating from the book, so I cannot begin to even guess what will happen tonight.  I mean, what is this past that is going to be brought to light, with Richie on the stand?  Richie is a teenage kid, like Connie; how much past can he have?  He is out, he accepts his sexuality, Connie accepts him, so what could the issue be?

                                       But wait!

For all her youth, Connie has something of a past, after her little dalliance with Hector.  Could....oh, my God... it.turn out that Richie had had a similar thing going, at one time, with..........Harry????????????????

Now, that would be something!  Mr Straight Macho Man turns out to be someone who sticks it in any hole, no matter which way the wind blows??????????????

It would be a hoot, darlings, and I would love it, but be prepared for something of a letdown!!!!!!!!!!!  We will dish tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How Rosie and Connie will be missed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I'm getting mixed signals from entertainment media coverage of the finale, but it does seem NBC is following its usual trajectory of not knowing what the hell they want to do with a new property, or whether they even wanted it after all.

So they are (rather confusingly) referring to this episode as a "season finale" instead of "series finale" and making half-hearted vague statements re it being a "successful first season." Which may explain deviations from the book, etc: they want to leave the door open a crack in case they renew it (and can get the cast back).

Tho a renewal seems unlikely if not altogether implausible, given NBC aped the Australian adaptation right down to the 8-episode run and titling each ep after the same characters. I suppose the only actor who might nix a second season would be Quinto, who has itchy feet in recent years. But if the American run ends with his exit, I'm sure all the others would be happy to keep their jobs and move on to another topic. Which would probably tank mid-season.

  2. I will answer your comments in my post of last night's episode, but I will say here that I thought "The Slap" ended on more of a whimper, when it should have been a bang!
