Two Offbeat Musical Theater Ideas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me assure you, girls, I have had some coffee, because I know what you are thinking-- What is so offbeat about "Annie??????????????"

Well, girls, let us spruce it up a little.  The orphanage run by Miss Hannigan is actually a crack house, where she is the queenpin drug lord.   The orphans are anything but sweeties, but street wise hoodlums who know the game, and go out and sell drugs on the street.  Miss Hannigan can be cast any color there is, but she has to play the role like a bad ass Diana Ross bitch wannabe!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Drug references will have to be incorporated into the dialogue, but the Strouse-Charnin score can remain basically the same, except with, perhaps a few tempo changes.

Wouldn't that make for some evening, dears?????????  Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Now, for something even more offbeat.

A musical, based on Marie, the Ice Cream Girl's video, of "Yo Granny's In Your Garbage!"

Set in Bay Ridge, during the early morning hours, the musical is a song and dance fest about the Asian grannys who troll the streets for garbage!  They sing, they dance, and they are happy about it.  This could be the most politically incorrect musical since "Flower Drum Song!"  Add to it a cameo by Lea Salonga, as an  affluent bitch, who tosses Granny out on the street each morning, and sings about it, and, in keeping with the tradition of Mickey Rooney in "Breakfast At Tiffany's," how about Jerry Stiller as a Grampa, who wants to get in on the action?  Including hitting on the grannies!!!!!!!!!!!   See how they react to him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am telling you, it would be more lively than "Miss Saigon," dolls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, get cracking on those shows, hons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Jerry Stiller is consistently
    brilliant. Wasn't he also on
"The King Of Queens," too? I
    loved him on there.
