Two-Face, first introduced in "Detective Comics," back in 1942, is one of Batman's more tragic villains. I can almost feel sorry for him.
His real name is Harvey Kent, and he was an up and coming attorney, in Gotham City. At a court trial, a mobster threw an acidic chemical in his face, rendering the left side of his face disfigured. It also poisoned his mind, so he embarked on a life of crime.
That was then, this is now. Strides have been made in facial restoration, and my God, Elizabeth Arden and Helena Rubinstein have been at it, for years.
Couldn't something be done for Two-Face?
All the guy ever wanted was to look his best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh wow!
ReplyDeleteI never got into Batman.
How very “Phantom of the Opera”
ReplyDeleteVictoria,
You are right; it is similar.
The Phantom was sympathetic too.
In the book, his parents are so
repelled by his ugliness, that he
leaves home early.
