When I first saw this poster, as a child, I thought it one of the best, and that the movie would promise thrills; among them The Creature (or The Gil-Man, as the film continues to call him) being larger than the bridge, and tossing victims right and left.
Now, I have never seen the film, but I have read about it, and it does not deliver on its promises. What it deals with involves a group of scientists capturing The Creature, and trying to make him over into a human, so he can walk among society. Get it???????????
Well, I have seen photos, and it just does not work. You can put him in a dress suit but with that fish face--no offense! --The Creature is just not going to make it in society. I mean, not even at ANNA's Met Gala.
Though he was the only Universal monster, apart from Frankenstein, to get his own movie trilogy, I always feel sorry for The Creature. If he had just been left alone, maybe just a wave or two when sighted, things would have been fine. Like the saying goes, you cannot get a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Leave the poor Creature alone.
I look forward to seeing the final film in the trilogy tonight. And I also look forward to seeing my favorite character, Nostalgiaferatu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Join us tonight at 8, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Baby Gojira and Little Pippin cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

as I always say, “The Creature” is just misunderstood!!
ReplyDeleteVictoria, I have said the same thing, and I wonder if this trilogy did not foreshadow 2017's film "The Shape Of Water."
