Salem Academy For Girls Is NOT Miss Porter's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That might be true, but it is hilarious, as Baby Gojira and I yesterday watched his Cheesy Movie pick--the original, 1973 "Satan's School For Girls!!!!!!!!!!!"

What a cast!  A butch looking Pamela Franklin, (to think, she played Dora in Delbert Mann's 1970 "David Copperfield redo!) a Kate Jackson, looking far too mature to be a private school student, Jamie Smith Jackson--what ever happened to her?--Cheryl Ladd, Lloyd Bochner, Roy Thinnes, and Jo Van Fleet, as the head mistress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, hons you just have to see the scene where Jo Van Fleet gets hysterical and continues throughout the rest of the film.  I bet Roman Polanski saw her in this, and decided to cast her in his 1976 film, "The Tenant," which, I think, was her final film!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The film clearly showed Kate Jackson was no actress.  Which is why she is now sitting on a chaise lounge somewhere in Southern California, toasting drink after drink to her failed career.  Cheryl Ladd at least had some spark, while Jamie Smith Jackson had the most potential, but she was too much of a type.  Lloyd Bochner and Roy Thinnes both overact in their roles, which is why this film is altogether cheesy.  Baby Gojira made an excellent choice.

To think this film was remade in 2000, with a cast of nobodies.  I have no interest in seeing that!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I made Baby promise his next choice will be something from the black-and-white past.  We have not been there in a while.

The only thing this film lacked was Morgan Fairchild!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Victoria, Yes! I suppose Tori was too young to be cast. But Kate Jackson seemed long in the tooth for a school girl!

  2. Lately when I doze off unexpectedly in front of the TV, I always seem to wake up towards the end of an "Invaders" rerun at the crack of dawn on MeTV. Good lord, Roy Thinnes was gorgeous in that series: those piercing blue eyes! Sure beats waking up to the sight of Sgt Shultz in a Hogans Heroes rerun.
