We're Still Pushing For Celia As Laura, Girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The word is fast getting out on the street, and around town, that Celia Keenan Bolger is quite the Laura in the forthcoming revival of "The Glass Menagerie." Word is, during her final audition, that Brit queen, John Tiffany, cried real tears, girls!!!!!!!! But, then, when don't we queens shed tears over anything theatrical? And especially "The Glass Menagerie," a play which many of us tend to view as a microcosm of our own adolescence, and many of us growing up viewed ourselves, or at least have, at one time, felt like, Laura.
So, there is much for the audience to anticipate!!!!!!!!!!!!! But the proof, of course, is in the results, so I am anxious to see Celia pull off Laura! And I am rooting for her, too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Laura is the gentle, fragile aspect of our soul, that lives somewhere among each and every one of us. I urge many of you to give the play a reread, before going, or to read the Williams short story, on which it was based, "Portrait Of A Girl In Glass!"
That way, you'll be completely ready for Mother Amanda's "Rise and shines!!!!!!!!!"
