June Is Also Gay Pride Month, Darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since June is Gay Pride Month, girls, instead of all the political logos everyone else is going to have, I wanted to have a shot of Judy Garland, with Jack Harmon and Don McKay, dancing the classic opening number, "Gotta Have Me Go With You," from the 1954 "A Star Is Born," to illustrate the fact.

This is an opening that gets the film off to a kicking start. Especially when James Mason as a drunken Norman Maine steps in, and Judy fakes his steps for him to rescue his reputation--and theirs.  It is a great kick-off moment, so what better way to kick-off Gay Pride???????

And damn it, I wanted something on display, besides those Dykes On Bikes. Because, you know they are going to lead the parade come Sunday, June 28.  Well, up yours, girls!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, we will try all month to find something to be proud about being gay. And this opening number can't be beat! Here, take a look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do you top this, darlings????????????????????????

  1. Jack Harmon, the little blonde, was an absolute dreamboat! He was also the uncredited assistant dance director on "Star," and appears again in the "Swanee" portion of "Born in a Trunk". There is NOTHING else to be found about him on the net, except a photo of him and Judy laughing uproariously on the "Trunk" set.

  3. Thanks for the info! I was not familiar specifically with Mr. Harmomn. Would love to see that photo of he and Judy!
