Both Gojira And Baby Gojira Are Saddened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To this day, especially if seen on the big screen, Ishiro Honda's 1954 "Gojira" remains the artistic masterpiece I always knew it to me, even from the time I was a child.

Millennials and other such ignoramuses  may find the film as crude and antiquated as the Baby Boomers thought of their grandparents' silent movies, but there is no doubting its cinematic perfection.  When viewed, "Gojia " is a living, breathing creature, and the notion that this is a man in a suit goes out of one's mind.

Yet it was true.  The man who originally wore the suit, and in twelve other movies, was none other than Haruo Nakajima.  Yesterday, he passed away, from complications related to pneumonia, at the age of 88.

Nothing could be more appropriate than a retrospective screening of the 1954, masterwork.  How about it, Film Forum?

Of course everyone who loves Gojira, and Baby Gojira--and that includes everyone on here--know they will endure.  But we take off our hats to Mr. Nakajima, who brought a legend to life.

A legend that has become more fact, as the decades go on.

                                      Rest In Peace, Haruo Nakajima!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
