Homophobia rears its ugly head again, this time in Orange County, California, and let us hope the victim in this case gets the justice so many other gay victims have been denied, due to so many straights thinking homophobia, let alone killing a gay man, or one killing himself, is okay.
Blaze Bernstein, the sweet thing on the right, is the victim. The only thing I can say not in his favor was--and I keep warning you on this, girls--was that, like so many, he was drawn to the low class, bad boy type.
Such attraction never turns out well.
Blaze--interesting name, huh? One might first thought of a stripper!--had been on holiday from his freshman year at the University Of Pennsylvania. That's right, Ivy League, darlings! Blaze sure had some brains. He just, unfortunately, did not have good judgement.
Blaze and Sam Woodward had been high school classmates. They hooked up during the holiday. Blaze was reported missing on January 3, and after a week, his body was found in a Southern California park, Borrego Park. He had been murdered.
Blaze was gay, and allegedly had some kind of romantic interest in Sam Woodward, and made that known to him.
Now, Sam, who, of course, is this week's winner of The Raving Queen Bitch Of The Week Award, could have taken the high road, simply said "No, thanks," and that would have been that.
But, no, this distorted thing, had to prove his misguided sense of manhood by rubbing out someone just because he had the mistaken notion Woodward might be gay.
There was no reason to murder Blaze. And Blaze, had you chosen better--my God, the U. of Penn population is at your disposal!!!!!!!!!--you might still be with us.
But I am not blaming Blaze. Not at all. I blame Woodward and his family, who must have created a climate of homophobia that will be allowed to run rampant in whatever follows, and may destroy Blaze and his family further, if Sam is not charged with, and convicted for, a hate crime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I blame myself for not posting this yesterday, girls! But I had to a doctor run, and other Manhattan things!
Listen to Donna Summer, girls! To paraphrase, girls who are drawn to bad boys become "Bad Girls," and then they become "Sad Girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The saddest thing here is Blaze's death, and the rampant homophobia still in our messed up culture, allowing it to take place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
