Girls, I Cannot WAIT To See Amy Adams In "Sharp Objects!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Not only was this novel, when I read it, the best of Gillian Flynn's three, this could shape up to be the Bitchfest of the year. That Camille Preaker, mother Adora Crellin, and sister Amma Crellin are all pieces of work, and I cannot wait to see these actresses go at their roles.
Who could be better than Amy Adams, as a tough talking journalist, from an abusive family, who goes home to investigate the murder of two pre-teen girls? And just having emerged from having psychological treatment in a mental institution????????? Who, but Amy Adams could get away with looking so good, from such an experience? Which is why we love her!!!!!!!!! No matter, darlings, keep that hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who better than Patricia Clarkson to play an abusive mother, who fancies herself the town matriarch, and makes Medea look like Mother Of The Year???????? I mean, Clarkson has been down this path before, but no one does it with such understatement, which makes it all the more creepy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Newcomer Eliza Scanlen has the role I should have been seen for, darlings--youngest sister, Amma Crellin, the town's official Mean Girl, who terrorizes everyone, and just may be involved in murder. She is one dangerous youngster, and I cannot wait to see how Scanlen tackles this role!
And Chris Messina, from "Julie and Julia," is in it, too. But that was nine years ago. Will he still look as good as Amy????????????????
It is so fitting Amy does this role, as she was supposed to do the other Gillian Flynn adaptation, "Dark Places." Production kept getting delayed, Amy ran out of time, and had to move on, so Charlize Theron stepped in for her, and did an admirable job. But, when I read these novels, both had Amy written all over them, so I am thrilled she gets to do one.
I am not posting any spoilers, but I will offer a hint. If any readers out there, recall the 'SVU' episode, "Totem," the outcome is very similar to that episode.
Only more Gothic, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Always in love wth Amy!!
