It's Not "Chinatown," Jake, It's Just 'SVU'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                     Anyone--and I hope there were none--out there expecting an "SVU" take on Roman Polanski's noir classic "Chinatown," was in for quite a rude awakening.

                                      First of all, one of you inept scriptwriters, tell me--what is up with Carisi????????  Is he working two jobs?  Or is he only at the writers' convenience?  The opening sequence, which had him doing cop work, shows he still has the chops for it, but why was he there, in the first place?  I knows he is fond of his colleagues, but come on, the man got a promotion, is in the big leagues, so to speak, so treat him as such, guys, not as some pawn to be randomly moved on your misguided chess board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                       Second, upgrade Jamie Gray Hyder's role, as Katorina "Kat" Azar Tamin.  She is the best thing to hit this series since Stephanie March first played Alex Cabot.  Though, we love Kelli Giddish, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                         But that bitch, Bureau Chief Vanessa Hadid, played as a bitch by Zuleikha Robinson, has GOT to be eliminated from this show. Whose side is this bitch on?  I don't think it is the law, I think she is in deep with crime organizations, and the sooner she is found out and removed from the program, the better things will be for all!  Especially poor Carisi!!!!!!!!!!  I hate this bitch!

                                           That said, the only reason to watch this show were two scene stealing performances from Margaret Cho, in a dramatic turn as Mama Son, Evelyn Lee, and Karen Tsen Lee, as Christine Chang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                              Cho was a hoot!  Playing the runner of a "lickee lickee" joint in Chinatown, (the new norm among that culture; remember when it used to be simple things like restaurants and laundromats?  Now, it is sex and sex trafficking!) she made it clear this was no "Flower Drum Song," though, knowing Cho's background, I could not help wishing for a rendition of either "Chop Suey!" or "The Other Generation!"  Or even "Happy Talk," from "South Pacific!"

                                                 Karen Lee Tsen, had an elegance to her as Christine Chang that made one, at first, think, she was auditioning for the role of Lady Thiang in "The King And I," bursting, at any time, into a rendition of "Something Wonderful."  Instead, she was just another Gale Sondergaard wannabe, meaning she was not to be messed with.  It is comforting for actresses out there to know that there is still a need for Gale Sondergaard wannabes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                                  High camp, not serious drama, made this episode.  The show continues to go down the tubes, so let it rest!  Stop beating a dead horse!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                                   Have mercy on the memories of this show was in its glory days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
