Girls, This Might Be The New Alice Playten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                            You may not know the name Melanie Paxson--I certainly did not, several months ago--but I--as I am sure many of you--became aware of her through her appearances on two television commercials.  Which made me think of Alice Playten, who, while already a Legend Of The Musical Stage, became a national star through a series of Alka Seltzer commercials!

                                               The most famous, and  funny, is the Fiber One granola bars one, where a husband discovers that his wife's alleged recipe for "Sandra's Yummy Scrumptious Bars," is actually from a box!  The ad includes her priceless delivery of what is sure soon to become a catch phrase--"I'm in deep, Babe!"  And Melanie delivers it so well.

                                                 She can also be seen on several commercials for the fast food franchise, Red Robin, in which she urges patrons to try the cocktail mixed with beer and lemonade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It took me several viewings to see this was the same woman as on the Fig One commercial, and, before you knew it, I had discovered Melanie.

                                                      Of course, Melanie has been doing parts in movies and TV all over the place.  But I think, with these two ads, she will gain greater visibility--and this blog will help!!!!!!!!--which can only lead to more work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                                         Let's hope she can sing like Alice!  Alice can never be replaced, but someone out there is needed to pick up her slack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                                            So, keep your eye on Melanie, dolls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
