Welcome, September!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's that time of year, girls! We have now arrived at what are called the "ber" months--and once there, the year is over! Plus, what with the very first day of September being Labor Day, that magical 80 plus day period between Memorial Day and Labor Day, which is what most consider Summer, comes to an end, though Summer does not officially end until September 21, when Proserpina goes back to Hell!
Confused? Well, let me give it to you straight--Fun Time is over, and now we hunker down, for the Long Winter!
But that doesn't mean things have to be unexciting. There is the arts season coming up in New York, and I cannot wait to see Celia Keenan-Bolger in the new Sarah Ruhl play, the film version of "Gone Girl," "The Wizard Of Oz" on screen (whether I see it in 3D or not, I don't care!!!!!!!!!) and who knows what else may come our way!
We have the tragic anniversaries of the attacks on September 11th, the passing of Tyler Clementi on the 22nd, and, in between, "Frank Mills " day at the twelfth. And, yes, if my voice holds out, I will be there, in front of the Waverly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And, of course, the thing to do today is watch the movie "Picnic," which takes place on a Labor Day Weekend. With Kim Novak, in that pink dress, and Susan Strasberg's hysterics, what could be better! To think is the film's last survivor! Go, Kim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy September and Labor day to you all! Please be kind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
