A Truly Cinematic Bitch This Week, Girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, I know what you might be thinking, darlings, but, no, while he looks like it, this is not an actor auditioning for the lead role in some ersatz version of "M."  Though I do admit he looks right for the part.  This is actually Bruce Goldstein, the programmer at New York's fabulous Film Forum, and he is this week's winner of The Raving Queen Bitch Of The Week Award.  Over the years, he has been responsible for many indiscretions, but the latest is what merits him this posting.

Brucie, baby, are you aware that people work?  Sometimes on Saturday?  And that not all who go to the Film Forum are young hipsters, who think they  know film but don't, when it is the Baby Boomers and down, who actually do?

This lack of awareness was demonstrated by your decision to run one--and only ONE--screening of the film most people want to see the most in the True Crime Series--Peter Jackson's 1994 "Heavenly Creatures."  And to do it at 9:30 PM!  Now, I know it is on a Friday, but some folk do work Saturdays, and not all of us have the stamina that we used to, to stay out late!  What is going on here, dude?  Are you getting off by culturally  depriving your constituents?????????????

Don't you know that if you scheduled multiple screenings of "Heavenly Creatures" in a single auditorium, for an entire week, it would play?????????  How well do you actually know your audience, doll????????????????

I really think Mr. Goldstein does not.  To prove this, I offer up some further indiscretions.

At no point during 2014, their 75th Anniversaries, were there screenings of "The Wizard Of Oz," and "Gone With The Wind."

In 2009, when the documentary "La Danse" was the hit of the moment, you jettisoned a screening of "Splendor In The Grass," so 'Danse' could draw more crowds and money, neglecting to inform those who trooped down there expressly to see 'Splendor'.  We were promised that film would be rescheduled, but it has been six years, and it never was.

I have seen "Rosemary's Baby" many times at your establishment, so I cannot complain too much here.  But there was a time, maybe fifteen years ago, when it was scheduled for a single day screening, and the box office oversold.  I bet some witches cast a spell on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lastly, there was a time, several years back, when "Doctor Zhivago" (which, by the way is celebrating its 50th Anniversary, in tandem with "The Sound Of Music," so where are they?????????) played there.  My friend, Audrey, ordered tickets in advance for three--she, Peter, and myself.  When we all met, it took them twenty minutes to find the tickets.  We almost missed the start of the movie, and if we had, I would have walked out, and demanded all of our money back!!!!!!!!!!!

How come no more Horror And Sci-Fi Fest during the Summer?????????
Are you stupid?  Do you know how many would love to see "The Leech Woman" on the Big Screen?

What about a Hayley Mills Festival?

Ever hear of"The Song Of Bernadette?"

You are not only a bitch, you are stupid!!!!!!!!!  I dare you to implement one suggestion in this blog!

And you know?  From your picture, you WOULD be great in "M!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
