I have always loved the color and patterns of Lilly Pulitzer's designs. But I always thought they were exclusively for women.
Either I was wrong--which may be possible--or Lilly has gotten with it and expanded her line. And a good thing too, what with "The Devil Wears Prada 2" coming out this week. I need to look my best when going to see it, and these outfits would do the trick. My favorite is the suit in the middle, but I would wear shoes instead of sandals. What they do to my sensitive feet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really, I am so happy Lilly Pulitzer has given men options; if new, she is long overdue for this. As I am for these beautiful and elegant jackets. Perfect for an afternoon or early evening.
Girls, go wild! Find the nearest Lilly Pulitzer to you (there is one on Court Street in Brooklyn) and find the outfit of your dreams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Remember, ANNA once said Brooklyn is "the new Silicon Valley," so you cannot go wrong.
I can't wait to march into the theater looking so elegant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And, of course, to stand out, with such luscious colors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I was working still at Bloomingdales in the visual department, we had Lily Pulitzer shops, and they had the mens clothing then! The reps generally liked my work and I was always given items to ensure their display and such stay nice and neat. So I was given several pairs of shorts, a few polos and more than a few ties. I still have them all and they get worn still.
It the one thing I miss about working there...I never had to buy skincare or cologne...the gals in cosmetics loved their gay visual boys and I was also gifted many items of clothing from designer reps, and sunglasses from Rayban, to Gucci to Tom Ford.
Mistress Maddie, A pleasure, as always. I had no idea Lilly Pulitzer dealt in the men's market for so long. Thanks for the info. I have a story for you. From 1998 till 2001--right after 9/11, in fact, I worked out of an office on Fifth Avenue. It was not far from Lord And Taylor. I was not happy there, so on my lunch hour I would sometimes go to their fragrance department and put different brands on my wrists. I favored CHANEL, Blue Marine by Pierre Cardin, Halston Z-14 and my current go-to, Safari For Men by Ralph Lauren. My boss, Janice, a glamour queen herself caught on to what I was doing, was as disgusted with the office setup as I, and ended up accompanying me, while she went to the ladies department. Sadly, L and T on 38th Street is no more. Is Bloomingdale's still what it used to be?
Bloomingdales is actually doing very well...probably at this point carrying the sinking Macy's Brand that owns them. They actually in recent years just opened two new stores, one in Santa Monica which I helped open. I worked with Bloomies clear up till the pandemic before we all got the chop. My last manager I worked under was a longtime visual manager with L&T. After they shuttered, he came to Bloomies, then when we got laid off and started working again, he went to Macys, in the old, very grand, and opulent John Wanamaker's Department Store in Philadelphia that has the world's largest pipe organ in it. What a building that was. He was there till a couple months ago, when Macy's decided to shutter that location. Needless to say, all of Philadelphia was saddened. It's the first time the doors have been permanently shut for close to 100 years or more.
And I know the L&T well in NYC...been many times. Henri Bendel's was always a favorite of mine too. I was there when they were closing, to stock up on my favorite candles they had. The lady that worked there gifted me a signature Bendel's striped hat box which I adore and will always treasure.
Did anything ever come of these old locations yet? Bendels was so unique and swanky. I mean it had Lalique windows for pete's sake!!!
