This is it, lambs, the night we have all been waiting for--when Domestic Diva and convicted felon Martha Stewart makes her guest appearance in the SVU episode, entitled, appropriately enough, "Learning Curve." In it, she plays the headmistress of a private school, where the detectives are investigating the case of a teacher who had unacceptable relations with at least one of their students. I don't know yet the gender of the teacher, so I do not want to make judgement calls there, though I can make a few about Martha!!!!!!!!!!!!
First, will she be able to act???????? Well, I think she will act about as good as she acts her role of........Martha Stewart, which means she will essentially be playing herself. (She is certainly no Martha Plimpton!!!!!) The idea of her as headmistress of a private school is a real howler, because those of us in the know, realize that Barnard educated Martha is no graduate from the world of Miss Porter's. She is just a dyed blonde from Nutley, New Jersey. Not to knock Nutley, which I have driven through many times, but Miss Stewart, as she has done for an entire career, would have one believe she is part of high society, when she actually came from its lower end!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot wait to see how Olivia (Mariska Hargitay) and Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) interact with Martha. And I am betting, right now, that the segment ends with one of them clamping a set of handcuffs on Martha, and hauling her off to the slammer!!!!!!!!!!!! At which point tumultuous applause will erupt at my domicile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, don't miss this special camp treat tonight! I expect some of my girls will be eating homemade cookies, and clutching their copies of "Martha Stewart Living" magazine, while watching!!!!!!
