Girls, I am telling you, last night on "Stolen Voices, Buried Secrets," we were served up a double dose of scumbags!!!!!!
The first installment chronicled the murder of the lovely woman pictured above, Kimberly Jean Dunkin. Kimberly had made it to 30, with a husband and kids. She had a great marriage and life, but, hey, sometimes girls just wanna have fun!!!! I can attest to that, darlings!!!!!!!!
So, on New Years Eve--December 31, 1992-- Kimberly's good- natured husband let her go to a neighborhood New Years Eve party in their section of Portland, Oregon. Kimberly went, had a good time, and left after midnight.
She thought she was alone, as she walked from the host house, stopping at a convenience store, and making it to her 1973 blue Chevrolet Camaro. But she was not alone. At some point--at least six blocks along the way--an 18-year-old punk named Brad Ballantyne, saw Kimberly. He watched as she stopped into an all night convenience store, and, when he saw her flashing money, he wanted some of that. Besides which, he was drunk, and doped up!!!! So, what else is new?????
Near the Camaro, he confronted Kimberly, who brushed him off. She got in the car, and, when Brad persisted, angry words were exchanged, and, do you know what this punk did?????
He pulled out a gun, and shot--that's right, shot!!!!--Kimberly in the head, at point blank range!!!!!
Then the coked up coward ran off!!!!!
What I want to know is, why did it take so long to catch this scum??? Who, in the meantime, had moved to Vancouver, had "supposedly" turned his life around, and was now--get this--a preacher!!!!! Darlings, I am telling you, Dusty Springfield would have been pissed. Nor would she have been fooled by this wolf in sheep's clothing.
Many people are jerks during adolescence. Not ME, of course, darlings, but if you read on here enough, you have heard me on others who were. And, like Brad Ballantyne, I don't believe they changed one iota. Though, at least, my jerks did not commit cold-blooded murder!!!!!
And if Ballantyne was so changed, so pure and preacherly righteous, why did he not own up to what he did, turn himself in, or at least apologize to Kimberly's family?????
The point is, lambs, he didn't!!!!! Because he was selfish, and pointedly did NOT want to relinquish his freedom!!!! Never mind he relinquished Kimberly's life!!!!!!
Now, get this, darlings!!!!! Like the saying goes, you can't make this stuff up!!!!!!!!!!!
What ultimately led to Kimberly's murder being solved was-- a playing card?????
For over fifteen years, Kimberly's case remained cold, and Brad remained free to practice his spiritual hypocrisy!!!!!! Now, you know those Serial Killer Cards they sell online, lambs???? And NO, I don't own a set!!!!! Well, by 2009, in Portland based prisons and correctional facilities, there circulated a set of playing cards, chronicling unsolved homicides. One of those cards featured
Kimberly. It got seen by someone who knew Brad's secret, talk is cheap, and, in the summer of 2010, Brad was arrested.
At the trial in 2011, the man offered no excuse but his own adolescence!!!!! He said he was drunk and doped up--and I say, well, whose choice was that, darling????--and when he saw Kimberly, she was "disrespectful" (can you imagine????) to him, which, at that time, he would not allow, so he shot her.
Then, he has the colossal NERVE to say how sorry he is, and how he regrets all the pain he caused Kimberly's family. Yeah, right!!!! Listen, Brad, if you had been truly sorry, you would have done this a lot sooner!!!! Like right after you killed Kimberly.
Kimberly Dunkin was murdered on January 1, 1993. Can you believe that was 19 years ago???? Thanks to Brad, New Years Day is never a happy one for this family!!!!!!!!!!!
Brad Ballantyne is in prison for Life! Now, he can spend the rest of his days being the jerky adolescent he never outgrew being!!!!!!
And come up against others, who may be even jerkier than he!!!
