But who is she????????????????????

                                      I am certain many of you have seen what I call the "State Farm Grandma Commercial!"  Sonny Boy has a rival insurance company, magically produces Granny, and she utters what is quickly becoming the current catch phrase of the day!  Thanks to the actress doing it!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                       When I first saw her, I thought, "She recalls the great days of Thelma Pelish!"  Thelma was a full figured, character actress, who played Mae on stage and screen in "The Pajama Game," and the wise cracking rehearsal hall receptionist, in "Valley Of The Dolls," in 1967!!!!!!!  But Thelma died back in 1983, at the age of 56; so go full figured gals!  Were she alive today, she would be about 86, and Grandma does not look that!!!!!!!!!!!

                                          After doing research, I was astonished at my findings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                          According to sources, the actress playing Grandma is not an unknown, thrust into the limelight, but a seasoned TV character actress!!!!!!!!!!!

                                            Sources tell me it is Barbara Sharma, famous to me for playing Myrna Morganstein to Valerie Harper's Rhoda Morganstern, on "Rhoda!"

                                              How well I remember Barbara Sharma!  The red hair, sure!!!!!!!!!
The voice--well, good acting can do that!!!!!!!!!!  The figure--only the March of Time, darlings!!!!!!!!!!

                                                At no time did I guess Barbara, though now, as I look at her, it makes sense!!!!!!!!!!!

                                                 But who cares if she has aged????????  She is still a seasoned pro, and I am sure she is relishing the attention--and royalty checks--she is getting as Grandma!!!!!!!!!!  It will turn out to be a role as memorable for her as Myrna Morganstein!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
