Can You Believe It, Girls?????????? Carrie Underwood Killed Her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No sooner did I post about the abysmal "Sound Of Music" broadcast, then I learned about the passing, yesterday, of actress Eleanor Parker, whom everyone knows played the Baroness in the classic film!

Is this bizarre coincidence, or what?

At 91, I am sure Eleanor had better things to do than watch this piece of crap, but I am sure she was aware of it, and even if she had seen a trailer, preview or snippet, it would have been enough, for someone who had actually been in the film classic, to keel over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And, speaking of Eleanor, darlings, "The Sound Of Music" was not all she did!

Don't forget the ultimate Women In Prison movie, "Caged!"

Not to mention her Oscar nominated performances in that very film, in 1950, as well as those for "Detective Story," the following year, 1951, and "Interrupted Melody," in 1955!!!!!!!!!!

And I just loved her star turn as Sylvia Caldwell on the short lived NBC drama, "Bracken's World."  Who could forget this campfest about a major studio, on the cusp of the end of the actual studio era?  Not to mention featuring the likes of Elizabeth Allen, and Madlyn Rhue,  as alcoholic wife of director Kevin Grant (Peter Haskell) named Marjorie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  That Miss Rhue !!!!!!!!! She was some hoot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eleanor was a trouper, and she went out, on a timely and iconic note!

Lots of DVDs will be playing the 1965 film this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
