Was That Actually Morgan Brittany On The Tip-It Box Cover???????????????
Seeing "The Birds" recently has brought up a lot of thing for me, on here, and one of them is Morgan Birttany. In the Hitchcock film, she is uncredited, but can be conspicuously seen in two key scenes.
The first is Cathy's (Veronica Cartwright) birthday party, which is really the first major attack. When the children are huddled into the house, with Tippi and Suzanne (Pleshette) looking out, two children's faces are huddled between them, looking up. The raven haired girl is Morgan Brittany, who then went by the name of her child performer alias, Suzanne Cupito. We see her again, during the school attack scene; she is seen running down the road, trying to shake the birds away, and a famous still from this scene shows three children in the wake of the birds, one of whom is she.
She had that defined Sixties, middle class child look, so when I think back to the game Tip-It, which I did own, I had to wonder--is the girl on the cover Morgan? Did they just draw the illustration onto the box, or were real models used? The girl looks enough like Morgan to say it is she, but I have never heard this confirmed. Plus, a lot of dark haired girls of this period had this generic look.
But what a way to be remembered! A Hitchcock film, and an Ideal toy game!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What in the world is Morgan doing today?????????????????????????
