How About A Commercial Bitch, This Week, Darlings????????????????
Remember Dena Dietrich, (still alive at 86, darlings???) and her famous Chiffon Margarine Mother Nature Commercials, in the early Seventies? The ones that ended always with her saying, bitchily, the line, "Oh, it's not nice to fool Mother Nature," after which she would point her finger, or stretch out her arms and catastrophe--a bolt of lightning, rocks exploding--would result.
Neither Dena or her Mother Nature are Bitch Of The Week. The winner is a character I think Dena did before she was Mother Nature.
I call that character, the Special K woman.
Do you remember this ad, girls? It was in black and white. A woman, unseen, arrives at a party. Everything is seen from her POV. The door is answered by a fashionably dressed woman, who looks the unseen one up and down, then says, with smiling malice, "Jennifer....what a DARLING maternity dress." There is a pause, the woman in sight shifts her face a little, and says, in mock surprise, "Oh...you're not?"
Then the push to lose weight on Special K, which is the whole point of the commercial--that Jennifer needed to lose weight, and she can do so, with Special K.
Cut to some time later. A group of women are playing cards, acting like a group of over aged high school bitches. One of them says, "Isn't Jennifer slinky?" "What a figure!" another comments. The woman who I think is Dena, sitting closest to the camera, with her back to Jennifer, as she is heard letting herself in, says, "I HATE her!" Then, she turns, and smiles a phony bitch smile, and says, with malice, "Oh, HI, Jen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The Special K woman is the winner of this week's Raving Queen Bitch Of The Week Award. The question I am posing on here, for anyone who may know, is did Dena, indeed play this role? If not, who did?
As for Special K, I don't know what Jennifer would do now? How the hell do you lose weight on chocolate flavored Special K?????????????????????

i wish i could find a Youtube of that commercial. i thought it was *very* funny, albeit sexist pig humor.
Robert Bristow-Johnson,
I would love to see this again, too.
I never thought the commercial sexist--
maybe I was too young--but I did think
it bitchy!
