Girls, Join Us Tonight At 8PM, As "Svengoolie" Opens March With A Goodie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been called "motion picture's greatest year."  That was 1939, which produced a lot of my favorites, including "Gone With The Wind," "The Wizard Of Oz," and "Wuthering Heights."

But somewhere in this mix is a gem from Universal called "Son Of Frankenstein."  It made history in several ways.

It marked the end of Universal's Frankenstein Trilogy.  It was the last time Boris Karloff played The Monster.  It introduced Bela Lugosi as Ygor, who demonstrated an acting range far beyond that shown in "Dracula."   It had Lionel Atwill as the policeman with the mechanical arm!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And that cast!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Josephine Hutchinson, Basil Rathbone, Emma Dunn and Donnie Dunagan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The sets and art direction are superb.  This is one of the last great Universal horror films, and it deserves to be seen.  Especially if it is your first time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad the actress playing the wife was no match for Mae Clarke or Valerie Hobson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See you tonight at 8, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!  Baby Gojira And Company will be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
