If alive, she would be 107 today, which means she has been gone 17 years, since she died at age 90!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it, darlings?????????? Seventeen years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is one of her best non-'Bernadette' photos. She had an illustrious career but will always be remembered for her Oscar winning performance in "The Song Of Bernadette."
And, in just a couple of weeks, girls, it will be Easter Sunday, time; to get out the DVD and watch the 1943 classic again.
She was just stunning! Could Sally Hershberger give me that hair style??????????????????
No wonder girls in the 40's wanted to look like her.
Hell, I still do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Heavenly Birthday!!
How we miss the elegant glamour of the forties!!!
Heavens....the only thing I'm familiar with her is, is the fall she took out of the scenic elevator when it blew off the cables in the Towering Inferno.

Victoria, Yes, indeed, glamour is something sorely needed today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mistress Maddie, BTW, the farmhouse sequence in "War Of The Worlds" was really good. You MUST see "The Song Of Bernadette;" it is Catholicism 101,
then see her as Pearl Chavez, the half breed Indian girl in "Duel In The Sun."
Also "Love Is A Many-Splendored Thing."
