Two weeks ago, we "Rizzoli And Isles" fans were warned of the August 12 episode, "It Takes A Village," in which something was going to happen to Jane, which required her role to be played from a hospital bed, and with lots of support from Maura and family.
I thought either Casey is going to die in Iraq, or she is going to lose the baby. Tuesday night's episode, "Lost And Found," which dealt with a mismatched couple trying, unknowingly to the other, to off the other with the same hit man, threw out a couple of clues, reflecting those very words.
The "Lost" part came when we saw the perp, whom Jane had been tailing in the abandoned building, which masks as a club, at night, knock Jane down, and gives her a couple of good, swift kicks in the abdomen. That's the end of the baby, I thought, though, when Jane was shown being wheeled by by gurney into the ambulance, though she displayed no signs of problems yet.
The "Found" part involved a bright, homeless 14-year-old named Tasha, who happened to witness the hit man rubbing out the wife at the club, and so got hot on her trail. From talking to Maura, we know Tasha is intelligent and ambitious, wanting to travel a similar path as Maura. She wants to be an oncologist, because her mother died of cancer, and she wants to fight that battle. Commendable!
So it is just very possible, that while Jane may lose the baby, she may adopt Tasha, so she and Maura can steer her onto the right path.
We were also introduced to Nina Holiday, played by Idara Victor. She is not Barry Frost's replacement, but, actually, she is. Even though she is not a detective, but--interestingly--a crime scene analyst. She is from Chicago, and has some kind of back story, which should be very interesting.
