Happy Birthday, ANNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forget the mayoral election, darlings!  When it comes to running this town, ANNA--Anna Wintour, that is--is the one who does the job.  Forget the "VOGUE" editorship, and overseeing Conde Nast, those are just a fraction of the jobs ANNA does and will continue to do because the city reverberates tot the power of ANNA.

I am sure Balthazar's is booked for this evening, and those in the fashion world will be in attendance.  I regret I was not invited.

So, I will have to wish ANNA the happiest birthday on here.  How great can one look at 76?  Let us all aspire to look as good as ANNA when we reach that.

Keep on going, ANNA!  Many on here are inspired by you.

Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday, ANNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Happy Birthday To Gojira!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't he so handsome and cute?  And modest, too.

Today is Gojira's birthday, and while I am sure he would say not to make a fuss, when one is the most lovable reptile in history, how can one not help celebrating his birthday???????????

Seventy-one years (the same age I will reach in just 15 days) ago, the Japanese masterpiece "Gojira" appeared at an art house theatre in Los Angeles, and the rest is history.  From his first master entrance over the mountain, Gojira became an instant star.

He has his own star on Hollywood's walk of fame, but what he is most devoted to are children and animals in need.  He is a great humanitarian, and I know that Sister Camille D' Arienzo, and her fellow sisters, have something special planned for his special day.  I hear a 12 layered chocolate cake is in order, specially made by the sisters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But all of us on here just want to tell Gojira how much we love and appreciate him. You are indeed the King Of The Monsters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Many Happy Returns, and more!

Celebrate your birthday well, Gojira!  You have earned it, and we honor you in this special day!

                                         Happy Birthday, with Love, Gojira!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

November Is A Bad Month For Turkeys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Turkeys' popularity goes up in November, but that is not good thing, if one happens to be a turkey.  I hope there is one turkey out there, who, like Barney, the bull, and Flaco, the owl, escape their slaughtering fate.

I think turkeys are cute, and while they can be unclean and nasty, they deserve as much right to exist as the rest of us.  Being a turkey and looking forward to the future is like being a suburban kid looking forward only to a tract house in the suburbs, for his future.

There is no law saying turkey must be consumed on Thanksgiving.  Did the pilgrims really eat it?  Come on, who was there that could tell us now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you abstain from turkey this year, fine.  But, girls, if you consume it, think of the sacrifice that turkey made for you to enjoy it.

Just like soldiers in a war!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No wonder turkeys cannot wait until December!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy All Souls Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today, darlings, is All Souls Day, which is when everyone else besides the saints are prayed for, though there is no objection to praying for them, too.  But this day is for those loved ones and friends we have lost, as well as though we may know living, but who have lost the same.

Some call it the Day Of The Dead.  I think that is a little harsh and morbid.  All Souls Day is more loving and celebratory.  So, if you have some you grieve for--and we all grieve from time to time, --even those gone long after our initial grief has worn off.

I found that out at my recent "Sound Of Music" viewing.

Let us remember today all who are not present on Earth.

Their souls are with us all the time, in our hearts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tonight's Showing Is Up To You, Darings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Svengoolie" has shown this so many times, even I, who enjoy it, am a little tired of it, which is why David and I will probably watch something different tonight.

But those who haven't seen it should, not only for entertainment's sake, but historical--this was Universal's last trotting out of their 30's and 40's monsters, giving way to the gigantic monsters of the atomic age.

Lenore Aubert, by the way, steals the show.

What a pity Karloff did not don the Frankenstein outfit for one last time.  That would have made things perfect.

First timers should love it.  Veterans like us will move on to something else.

What will it be, darlings?  I will certainly let you know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy All Saints Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a cousin whose birthday today is, so a happy birthday to him.

But on this day, we celebrate EVERYONE who is sainted--Bernadette, The Fatima Children--Lucia Dos Santos and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto, Mother Teresa, Mary and Joseph, the Apostles, and, someday, Sister Camile D'Arienzo.

All saints should be honored, and this is their special day. Celebrate in honor of those having been chosen before us.

And let us, best we can, follow the example they set.

                                      Happy All Saints Day, everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome November, Darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as I am concerned, this is the month of months.

Birthdays galore of famed theatrical celebrities, not to mention yours truly, shows to see, people to be celebrated, and then--oh, my God!!!!!!!!!!!--the coming of the holdiay season.

Yes, November, though second to last, is a really important month, and it should be respected.  It is also short--only 30 days, and the clocks change tonight so the days grow shorter.

Happy November to all having birthdays in it, and to the rest enjoy yourselves and celebrate!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                            The holidays are coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
