Death Of A Sixties Icon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Girls, and fellow Baby Boomers, the passing of Sixties icon and Andy Warhol star, Ultra Violet, at 78, last Saturday, at a hospital in Manhattan.
Born Isabelle Collin Dufresne, in French, she was first mentored by no less than Salvador Dali, then took up association with Warhol in her late 20's which made her a cult star. She did more for purple dyed hair than anyone I can think of.
She was on the party scene, long before I was, dears, and I am sure she crossed paths with everyone, including Sylvia Miles!!!!!!!!!! She appeared in several of Warhol's experimental films, and in the Oscar winning 1969 "Midnight Cowboy." She even published her own memoirs, "Famous For 15 Minutes--My Years With Andy Warhol." Too bad Warhol never got hold of me. Well, somebody has to.
Ultra Violet will be missed. She was an original in a world that is now made up of shabby imitators, like Lady Gaga!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bring back Deborah Harry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
