Not The Story I Would Have Written, Darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                     First, let me clear up the confusion.  You are correct, if you are thinking the title character is who he is. That is right; it is Godzilla, better known now, by his Japanese name, Gojira. But, because novelist Mark Jacobson was working with a TOHO franchise, that "a" had to become an "o," so here, now he is known as Gojiro.

                                       He still loves children, his fans and the world.  But he is a lonely complicated soul.  He is sixty six million years old, and, for much of that time, he was a small lizard.  But the whole atomic thing in the Forties and Fifties caused him to mutate into the giant creature known and loved today.  And he is invincible. So, he will be emissary of this world, long after those reading this, have left it.

                                         Gojiro has his humorous moments.  He states that the burgers at Hollywood's famed Brown Derby restaurant, are not what they are cracked up to be, and he should know.  He  admits all of his movies were made solely for money, and never are actual ones mentioned, because of Jacobson and the TOHO copyright.  The movies mentioned have the ring of others, but are not actual titles.

                                           It is when the novel gets philosophic and existential that it becomes weighted down. Not that Gojira--I will call him by his real name here--is not moving and intelligent; he certainly is. But a breezy, Jacqueline Susann Hollywood tale, as only Gojira could tell it, was more what I wanted, and would have added more fun to the ponderousness Jacobson often overindulges in.

                                            He really should have let Gojira tell his own story.  Some celebrities do need ghost writers.

                                             Gojira does not. Left to his own devices, he could be on a par with Brooke Hayward, and Susan Strasberg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Commercial Is Indecent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                          And this commercial has been bouncing around channels, for months!!!!!!!!!!!

                          You want to talk about sexism on television.  You think the Bush administration was bad??????  Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

                           I mean really--practically showing vaginas on television.  Why do the women have to always step forward.  You would NEVER see a counterpart, where the guys--just as attractive, I should hope--trim their pubes!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Oh, come on, guys, don't tell there isn't one of you out there who has had a trim, or wax job????????????

                             This is enough to give the Gay Male Community nightmares! It should be pulled from the airwaves!!!!!!!!!!!!

                               Or, give the guys equal time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Girls, We Have Tickets To What Is The Summer's HOTTEST Theatrical Event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                              I am so excited--and nervous--darlings, because I don't know how I am gong to get through the workday, over the prospect of seeing "Runaways" tonight, at ENCORES, City Center.

                               Now, did you see Ben Brantley's review in The Times this morning?????  Oh, sure he praised it--as he damn well better!!!!--and he gave clues that things like its opening and the song "Where Are Those People Who Did 'HAIR'?" have been retained--but how can someone who has not seen the original production, and was around to, as was I, possibly understand it?????????

                                 Audiences need to understand what this city was like in the Seventies.  How this show, first done at the Public Theater's now defunct cabaret, caused as much of a stir between uptown and downtown as a little thing Michael Bennett did downtown, just three years before,called "A Chorus Line."

                                  The Original Cast of "Runaways" was extraordinary, and this is where the current company has much to live up to--Trini Alvarado--oh, my God, "Lullaby From Baby To Baby!," Josie De Guzman--oh, my God, "No Lullabies For Luis,", Karen Evans--oh, my God, "To The Dead Of Family Wars," and those group numbers--"Where Do People Go?"  "Every Now And Then," "Sometimes," "Let Me Be A Kid," and "Lonesome Of The Road."  And how about folk like David Schechter, Anthony Imperato,  Diane Lane,--yes, Diane Lane!!!!!!!!--Evan Miranda, Bernie Allison--the show has so many moments and people to live up to in the eyes of those who understood it, when  experiencing it, initially, I hope this cast can do a decent rendering.

                                       I will you tell you all tomorrow. It may not be Josie, but it should be exciting!

                                         It is exciting enough to welcome "Runaways" back to the New York stage!

A Sad Farewell To The Last, Original Star Of "Follies!!!!!!!!"

                                It was announced, this morning, that John McMartin, the original Ben Stone in "Follies," back in 1971, has died.  He was 86, and the cause was cancer.  The theater community is at a loss, and I hope lights are dimmed for him.

                                 His rendition of "The Road You Didn't Take" in the Sondheim musical, took my breath away. The older I got, the more I relate to it. Which reflects back on what "Follies" is all about.

                                  I also saw him in the musical, "High Society."  He also originated the male lead in "Sweet Charity," and he was on just about every TV show during the past several decades.  I know he has popped up on "Law And Order" more than I can count.

                                    One thing more. No wonder I am so attuned to musical theater. McMartin, Dorothy Collins, and I all have/had the same birthday--November 18.

                                      No wonder "Follies" is one of my favorite shows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Most Wrenching Read Of The Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                          Chris Cleave's "Little Bee" was the sensation of its day.  When I heard of this new book, and its title, I just had to read it.  It is worth the read, but it is also one of the ,most harrowing stories of World War II I have read.  In lesser hands, this could have been 40's melodrama. With Cleave, it steps up to poetic lyricism.

                                              A group of characters--Mary North, Tom, Alistair Heath, Zachary and his father, Mary's friend, Hilda, come together during wartime in London. Their relationships, both in and out of that city are chronicled as they change and evolve.  There is much tragedy in the book that brings home to Americans particularly how London was devastated by the war. I confess I had to put the book down; I could not take much more.

                                                The novel ends on a satisfying, if bittersweet note. The journey may seem difficult, but it is well worth reading.

                                                  But I suggest you read something fun, afterward.  Even Lauren Weisberger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look At Celia, Darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                           That is Celia Keenan-Bolger, of course, and her husband, John Ellison Conlee, in the new comic, country Western musical, "Tumacho," which I am urging all my girls to get down and see.  I think it closes on July 9.  Some performances are sold out; well, of course, everyone wants to see Celia.  I mean, that talent, and that hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                             I am urging all my girls to get down to The Wild Project, at 195 East Third Street, and see this show. So much is happening at this time, that this dizzy, Raving Queen just can't keep up.  The thought of missing Celia just breaks my heart, but when you hear why, even Celia, I think, would understand.

                                So, go in my place, dolls?  Meanwhile, doesn't Celia look great????????????

What Does This House Have To Do With Bitch Of The Week????????????????????

                                 Actually, there are two bitches, this week. The house was the home of their victim, seventy-year-old Edna Phillips, a beloved local spinster, who was murdered by this week's contest winners, Maria Rossi and Tina Molloy, then 17 on July 16, 1993.

                                  Only five months before, Jamie Bulger, a two-year-old toddler, had been murdered by two ten-year-old boys.  

                                     And Britain has always been famous for Brady and Hindley!!!!!!!   What gives over there?

                                      To make Edna's case worse, one of her perps, Maria Rossi, was a next door neighbor, whom she had known from infancy.  When Maria got into her teen years, she began tormenting Edna.  Why the neighbors did nothing, which foreshadowed the tragedy, is their version of Kitty Genovese.

                                        Maria and Tina, on that day, got drunk, and high on drugs. Which was their choice.  So they don't get off just because they were addicted; if Maria had already been tormenting Edna, this would have happened, drugs or not!

                                          Sick, teenage bitches!!!!!!!!!  Is it hormones?  Lock them up!

                                           The girls were found guilty, and imprisoned for an indefinite time at Cardiff Crown Court, in Wales!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                            Upon discovery of what the girls had done, their families were tormented by neighbors, and warned to leave the neighborhood. This was deserved. They are just as guilty as the girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                               There was a question awhile back of Maria's release.  The case suggested a movie, "The Devil Inside," released in 2102.  I haven't seen it yet, but you girls know I will.

                                                  As for Maria and Tina, I hope they rot in prison forever.

                                                  If they are out, beware. And if they come near me, I will smack them across the face.

                                                   They are so vile I could not find pics of them. So , I will end this post, with a depiction of typical, vile teen bitches!
