"Annabelle" Is Such Fun, Dolls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                    Let me make it clear from the start.  The doll steals the show.  The actors hardly matter.

                                     During one crucial moment in this film, when a pregnant woman, named Mia (yes!!!!!!!!!!) is knocked across the room, and the doll Annabelle rises from the floor, and  sort of glides across the room toward her, the audience collectively screamed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                      Mia is played by an actress whose real name is Annabelle Wallis.  It is clear neither she nor anyone in this film are going anywhere, because, for all the fun that "Annabelle" offers, when the doll is off camera, the movie falls flat.

                                        In "The Conjuring" (which "Annabelle" is a prequel to) there was former A-list actress Lili Taylor, mortifying herself by flying through the air, hair spewing, and vomit issuing from her mouth!  Here, the distinction of mortification belongs to Alfre Woodard, who, I believe, at one time,,was even an Oscar nominee. Here, in this hackneyed mixture of "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Omen," Alfre has skill enough to play her role with ambiguity--will she be this film's Minnie Castevet, or a conduit for good?  I won't tell you, but Alfre gives it all her worth, and her final scene is a corker!  Poor Alfre, what is she going to do next?  Get her a guest spot on 'SVU,' quick!!!!!!!!!!  It can only elevate her street cred!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                        The doll is the true star of the film, and if they are sold on the market, I want one!  Despite what my beloved says, Annabelle would look great in our apartment. But, his other suggestion is great--bring it into the office.  No coworkers would bother me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                           Honeychild does have a point!

                                           "Annabelle" is certainly not a screen masterpiece.  It doesn't come near
"Dead Silence," because it doesn't and have and use as gifted an actress as Judith Roberts as Mary Shaw. While Alfre Woodard has the potential for it, her role is essentially a walk through.

                                               But see "Annabelle" if you like creepy doll movies, and effective pre-Halloween fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                                 Now, I want to visit Lorraine Warren's Occult Museum, in Monroe, Connecticut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  If I succeed in getting there, I will give you a full report!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
