Happy Bastille Day, Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, darlings, this is the day, back in 1789, I believe, when the French Revolution kicked off.  And no, my dears, it has nothing to do with "Les Misérables," because that was another time period and political conflict.  So many seem to think that if a story is set in period French and has a war of some sort, then it is the French Revolution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Learn your history, dears!!!!!!!!!!!  Read Victor Hugo or Charles Dickens and see the difference.  Vive la France!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, how should one celebrate this day?  Not watching "Gigi," that's for sure!

Some French cuisine would be nice.  At least some coq au vin!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I think the best way is to watch the Selznick "A Tale Of Two Cities," where Blanche Yurka, as Madame Defarge, steals the show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is Blanche Yurka in one of her finest moments in the film!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Happy Bastille Day To All!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Victoria,
Thank you! We have no French restaurants in Bay Ridge.
In fact, they have become rare in Manhattan.
