That Lisa Moore! Someone Should Have Stuck Their Hand Inside The TV Set, Slapped That Bitch Across The Face, Then Dumped Her In The Slammer!!!!!!!!!
Lisa Moore, a fictional character, in last night's "Law and Order SVU" episode, entitled, "Wednesday's Child," is good enough to be named Bitch Of The Week. I have another, real life choice in mind, for that one, girls, so you will have to be patient, and wait. However, the issues in both situations almost coalesce.
I have not written much on here recently about 'SVU', because, frankly, it has not been much of a season. "Wednesday's Child" was not a particularly great episode, but it was compensated for its bad writing by some stellar guest star performances--from Rosanna Arquette and Mark Boone Junior as a pair of pedophile losers, and, the one who blew me away, Jodie Markell, as Lisa Moore, the mother, a woman who should never be allowed to go near a child.
Her husband, Tom Moore, is away on business a lot, working on behalf of the U.N. and children. He is played by a scruffy, middle aged looking, John Benjamin Hickey, who has been on these programs over the years, and used to be pretty hot stuff! He is still a good looking man, but I wasn't sure if his appearance was due to age or the character he was playing. I hope the last!
The story goes that the Moores adopt a seven-year-old Russian child, whom they call Nicky. One evening, when he returns home from a business trip, Tom finds that Nicky has vanished. It turns out that his bitch wife, Lisa, (whom he should have divorced on the spot, smacked her in the face, and then thrown her out into the freezing street!!!!!!!) could not handle Nicky's health problems, key among them juvenile diabetes. So, she turns him over to an allegedly religious couple, whom she found online, so this was premeditated, who promise to care for Nicky, see that he gets his insulin, etc.
At first, I thought maybe she had turned over Nicky to a religious cult, but it is much worse.. This couple, the Pearsons, played brilliantly by Rosanna Arquette (Alex) and Mark Boone Junior (Roger) are abductors of unwanted adoptees, whom they provide shelter for, but use them in their pedophile film projects. The scene where Roger is arrested while dining on a meal even Falstaff could not eat, is really camp, just too hilarious for words. Meanwhile, Alexa is being interrogated, and it turns out she has some remorse, and a bit of a conscience; she turns on Roger, and these two are hauled off, where they belong, for Life!
Bad as they were, I wonder if Lisa Moore, played by Jodie Markell, in a performance that blew me away with its disturbing lack of emotional or maternal empathy, was even worse.
She wanted nothing to do with the kid, because he was too difficult. So, what happens if they have a real kid, huh???? At the end, she comes to see Nicky in the hospital, (Nicky is found on a plane bound for Atlanta, Georgia, passed out from diabetes!!!!!!!!) and swears things will be different, but from the look of hesitation on her face, and the look of outright suspicion on Nicky's (I don't blame him!) I am not so sure . This was the moment in the episode for someone--Hickey, Mariska, Danny Pino (which would have raised my opinion of Amaro) to step forward, smack Lisa across the face, and haul her sorry ass off to jail. Would you believe they give this family a happy ending, under the pretext that there will actually be one? Whom are they kidding? This is why Season 15 tanks, because of decisions like this. And where was Olivia???? I thought she was such a Child Advocate, and now she is a Sergeant, so why doesn't she step in??????????
Oh, well, I guess no one cares, since the show is on its last legs anyway. But not before we get another visit from Amanda's trashy sister, Kim!!!!!!!!! That should liven things up a bit!
But see this one for Jodie Markell's chilling performance!!!!!!!!!!!
