Today, We Remember A REAL Saint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eleven days ago, at Easter, darlings, I, of course, watched Jennifer Jones in her stunning, Academy Award winning performance in "The Song Of Bernadette." Today, I want to remember the REAL Bernadette Soubirous, whose Feast Day this is.
It is also the 82nd Anniversary of her canonization. Bernadette was declared a saint of the Roman Catholic Church on this day, in 1933. And her story was filmed just ten years later.
She was quiet, compassionate, a visionary, and a healer. It is said, during her convent years, that the sickest patients always asked for her, as she was most comforting. And this was with her true identity under anonymity.
Bernadette's life is the greatest story I know of triumph over adversity. Let us all remember her today, and be inspired by her example!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even if we can't all be saints, darlings, we can be our best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
