It's Not Exactly Joan Didion, But.................

"Tell The Wolves I'm Home," the first novel by Carol Rifka Brunt, is, so far, the most wrenching book I have read this year.  You need to be in the right emotional place when it is read, because if not, it will tear you to pieces.  Even in the best frame of mind, it gets under one's skin.

Her scope is impressive.  In just 360 pages, Rifka covers New York City during the AIDS epidemic of the late 1980's, suburban life in Westchester at the time, relationships between two sets of siblings, a gay man and his partner, and a marriage that I was surprised did not disintegrate.  Brunt's character focus and ability to keep everyone and everything in focus is nothing short of remarkable, especially for a first novelist.  The post interview was interesting to read, because, being a first novel, I thought there was some autobiography surrounding the novel, but no. Amazingly, the whole thing started as a short story.

Which should inspire other writers; one never knows where the material started  out with is going, and signals Brunt as a promising author to watch.

But it is wrenching; the kind of book that can drive one, after, to Candace Bushnell or Lauren Weisberger.

But Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Weiner?????????? Never!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Expanding The Game Of "Gay Gaslight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I have mentioned this game before, girls!  It's the one I do with my crazy, alcoholic upstairs neighbor, who I call "Big Boy!"  I stand at the foot of the stairs, leading right up to his floor--his apartment is just above ours--and I call out, in my resonant, Broadway tones--"Oh, do it to me, Big Boy!  Oh, shove it in me, Big Boy!  Big Boy!  Big Boyyyyyyyyyyyy!"

Big Boy is, single, and, so I am afraid still stuck in that closet.  Which is why I think he drinks.  My idea all along is that this mantra--which comes verbatim from "Portnoy's Complaint," by Philip Roth--will reach out to him, and help him find his potential.

I am not sure that it has.  But I have another idea which might speed things along. Adding to the above routine, I am thinking of donning the Liza make-up and costume from "The Act," and, dancing on the stairs, like she, do that classic number from the show, "City Lights!"  Remember it, darlings-- "Fairs and socials ain't no pluses,
I saw more on cross- town buses,
Brightly lit by pretty City Lights.

"Hold that udder, and churn that butter,
Me, I'd rather shoot some gutter,
Dimly lit by pretty City Lights."

I mean when has anyone, let alone Big Boy, last heard lyrics like that?  If this doesn't propel him out of the closet, nothing will!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And as for you who are out, already, let us look at Liza's unforgettable moment--when she was GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But someone out there, please tell me---how do I apply that eye make-up???????????

Oh, My God!!!!!!!!! Liza Doesn't Even Know What A Metro Card Is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you seen the Christine Pedi video "Outtakes--More Shit Liza Minnelli Says????"  You have to, darlings!  There are two great moments--both in her dressing room. One is when she screams out the name "Zasu Pitts!  Another, which follows, soon after, is when some fan drops a Metro Card, and she holds it up and says, "What the hell is this?"

Oh, Liza, Liza!!!!!!!  You have no idea how us mortals live!  You should try it out for experience--you could put it into your act!  Because you sure as hell cannot stand on a chair, singing "Bye Bye Mein Lieber Herr!!!!!!!!!!!!"

This video is priceless!  You'll just love it!

If only I could reach the point where I could say "What the hell?" about Metro Cards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those Keenan-Bolgers Are At It Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Girls, I am telling you, you have just got to see this most charming video of Celia, Maggie and Andrew Keenan-Bolger  (it is now official; Celia had the baby on April 29, a little boy, who is to be named William, but will be called Liam) talking about the musical, "Fun Home," which, after hearing them talk about it, and hearing a friend I ran into on the subway this morning raving about it, (having seen it twice) I have got to see it. I mean, Judy Kuhn, alone!

But this video is more than a plug for the show. It is insight into the charm and talent of the Keenan-Bolger siblings, and their thought processes.   After seeing this, you will feel like you know them!  Here!

Just can't enough of those Keenan-Bolgers!  Andrew, hopefully, will be seen on Broadway in 2016, when "Tuck Everlasting" reaches Broadway, but, with a new baby, who knows when we will see Celia?????????  So enjoy her here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This sibling act is just irresistible, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What A Combination, Darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The rumor on the street is that Anne Hathaway, Oscar winner for Fantine in "Les Miserables," is going to be starring with one of Hollywood's biggest stars--namely Godzilla/Gojira, in his latest film.

According to a rare interview, granted to the Raving Queen, the lovable reptile, who prefers to be called Gojira, expressed excitement over the prospect.

"I have loved Anne," he says, "ever since 'Brokeback Mountain.'  I wish I could have worked with she and MERYL in "The Devil Wears Prada," and I cried real tears over her performance in "Les Miserables."

"And I know Anne has wanted to work with me, as she has expressed in previous interviews. We haven't had a meeting, yet, because the script has not been written yet, and you know I have control over that.  But Anne and I will have several scenes."

"You know, I am really a lovable guy," continued. Gojira.  "People misunderstand me from the 1954 Japanese classic. That was just a script. It was all acting.  It was not until the movie with the Smog Monster that TOHO allowed me to be seen as a social activist in protecting the world for everyone.  Which is what I am planning on having the new film emphasize."

He is also a modest humanitarian, speaking humbly of his work with one of the greatest peace workers of the area, Sister Camille D'Arienzo.  I just love what she and the Sisters do. And anytime I can be of help, I am happy to be of service.

In  fact Gojira and Sister Camille are planning to see the Broadway musical, "An American In Paris." He won't say what night, because he does not want to attract too much attention. But he has revealed he has purchased an elegant gift for her for the evening from Van Cleef And Arpels."

"I also love children and dogs," he says. At fairs and festivals, the kids just love to slide down my tail.  I give them a special treat."

"I can't wait to work with Anne," he reiterated. "But, this being one of my films, you can be sure there will be some fire breathing.  I've always been a flamer, darling!!!!!!!"

Sicko Siblings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, darlings, these are not two of the boys from the cast of Broadway's "Finding Neverland," though, from this photo, they could pass for such. This photo, taken back around 2001 is of the King Brothers--Alex, left, age 12 and Derek, right, age 13.

Basically, the problem was, the boys came from a bunch of losers. First of all, the event happened in Cantonment, Florida--Florida, again; why does everything seem to happen there?
Their father, Terry Lee King, was not the sharpest when it came to romance or finance. He was dumb enough to  hook up with a drug addicted whore named Janet French, who later changed her name to Kelly Marino.  King must have been desperate, and, from the way the story was enacted on Investigation Discovery, that is how the actor portraying King played him.

Obviously, Janet/Kelly was not the domestic type. She gave birth to Alex and Derek, by Terry, then, several years later, had twins by another man--while still living with Terry. Then she abandoned them all! Slut!!!!!!!!!!!  She should have been arrested, too.

Terry could barely make ends meet. So he farmed the boys out to foster homes. The twins were adopted, permanently, in 1995,  and Derek found a home with an affluent family, but Alex was always a bit of a problem, whose cuteness fooled everyone.  At one point, Terry got it together, and brought the boys to a home he had purchased for all of them to live.  But the home was beneath the standards Derek was accustomed to living, and there was no pleasing Alex, at all.  Plus, Terry was an overzealous nut--rules, no television, just book, and these were not the type of kids to read.  Even Harry Potter would have been too sophisticated for them.

There was a wolf in sheep's clothing living in the neighborhood, by the name of Ricky Chavis, a child predator. His home became known as a hangout for kids who wanted to bend the rules. Chavis offered video games, alcohol, drugs--everything a rebellious kid could want.

Alex was a frequent visitor to Chavis'.  He came to know it meant sometimes submitting to oral sex with Chavis, but he felt it was a small price to pay, after living with a father he hated. When Derek showed up, Alex brought him to Chavis, knowing what his brother  might be in store for, but it seems the pedophile had a thing just for Alex.

Things spun out of control in 2001.  On November 16, Terry was distressed to discover his boys had run off, unaware they were simply across the street, living with Chavis. The boys eventually did  return home, but, then, on the night of November 26, Alex came up with the idea of killing their father, while asleep, with an aluminum baseball bat. Though Alex planned it, Derek is considered the one who did the deed, then they had help covering things up, from Chavis.  The family house was also set on fire

All three were charged. Chavis got thirty years in prison, while the boys got seven years in a juvenile facility (Alex) and Derek eight.  And would you believe, while in prison, Chavis wrote love letters to Alex?????????

Of course, now out, the brothers, who are 26 and 27, respectively, are singing a different tune--of forgiveness, redemption and all that bullshit!  I don't believe a word of it!
Derek says he wants to settle down with a family of his own; I say this would be the worst thing for his wife and children!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The King Brothers are sick!  And so is their trampy mother, who should have been locked behind bars, for Life!  She contributed as much to all this,as everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, girls, there are more cheerful posts coming up!  I promise!!!!!!!!!!!
