Girls, It's Twiriling Time Once Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Darlings, as I am sure many of you know, today marks the day that, 46 years ago, the world took its first collective "GASP!" at the site of Julie, camera panning in on her up against the Alps, doing that opening twirl from "The Sound Of Music." And we have not been the same since, including a lot of burgeoning gay boys--moi, certainly, loves!--that now span generations who have been motivated by this moment to imitiate it time and again. Though, save me, I don't think anyone out there wanted to be Angela Cartwright or Heather Menzies!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alas, today would also have been the 92nd birthday of Jennifer Jones, had she not left us in December of 2009. Miss Jones is happily enconced in the Heavenly Realm, where she is maybe doing Cole Porter's "Heaven Hop," or hanging out at coffee klatches with her girls--Bernadette Soubirous herself, and, of course, Mother Teresa!!!!!! And maybe even Rue McClanahan!!!!!!!!!
So this date means a lot to yours truly. Enjoy it--we have made it to another one--and don't forget to twirl--so good for the circulation, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!
Remember...when you know the notes to sing....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
