Not Since Betsy Palmer As Mrs. Voorhees, Has There Been Such A Fun Bitch As Susan Tyrell As Aunt Cheryl!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, Tyrell could never match Palmer's brilliance, but she was a hoot as Aunt Cheryl.  Shortly after the original "Friday The 13th" came out, in 1980, there appeared a horror film entitled "Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker, " but later changed to the better title "Night Warning."  It boasted a cast the likes of Tyrell, Jimmy McNichol (Kristy's brother!), Julia Duffy, and Bo Svenson as a homophobic detective.   You just gotta have one, right?

What happens is Billy's (McNichol's) parents go on a vacation while he is still a baby.  Aunt Cheryl, the mother's sister, agrees to keep him while they are on.  Except they are killed in a car accident, which, I believe, was somehow engineered by the sexually repressed Cheryl, who is happy to raise the child as her own.  Then, when puberty and hormones creep in, and the child morphs into Jimmy McNichol, Aunt Cheryl goes all sexually depraved, and has the incestuous hots for him.  The scenes of her coming on to him, and he rebuffing her are hilarious.

Meantime, Cheryl has killed a TV repairman, and the detective thinks it is a whole homosexual thing gone awry.  Don't ask me how; this is pure camp!

You have to seen the climactic scene, where Aunt Cheryl imprisons Billy in an attic, with all his childhood toys, so  she can have him sexually for herself.  Julia, the girl friend is dead, and Cheryl stabs Billy, but he impales her on a fireplace poker.  Meanwhile, Bo Svenson, the homophobic detective is shot to death by Billy, for his bigoted homophobia.  And everyone is happy Billy has killed all these people.

I wonder if Jimmy McNichol talks about this film today. Clearly, this is a must see for Tyrell's performance, making her an excellent choice for Bitch Of The Week.  So, congratulations, Aunt Cheryl, you are this week's winner.

And the movie spawned a bunch of crazy aunt movies, like "Sleepaway Camp," and, of course, Shelley Winters in "Who Slew Auntie Roo?"

Who had it in for aunts? is what I want to know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, THIS is camp!  Why was it not featured at the Met gala???????????
