Oh, No, Darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not Karen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                       By the time I, a small child, started watching "The Mickey Mouse Club," it was in syndicated reruns.  So, everyone on the show was older than I, already.

                                         I always wanted to be Karen or Cubby, because they were so young and cute. And, of course, Annette, because she was...Annette!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                         I don't know anyone who wanted to be Darlene!  Good thing, because look how she turned out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                          Karen's passing, on October 6, left a mark on the Baby Boomer generation.  If anything signals, as if we need to be aware, the early decline and demise of our peer group, it is Karen's tragic passing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                            Karen, you will always be a Mouseketeer to all of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                            As we, too, who are old enough to remember, will always be Mouseketeers, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
