"AHS:Apocalypse: Sojourn" Is One Big Disappointment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After the brilliance of last week's segment, entitled "Traitor," I expected the show to go up from here.  Was I wrong!

Though it starts out with a Felliniesque sequence of Michael discovering that his allies--including Miriam Mead, his Satanic henchwoman--are all dead, and a fateful confrontation with Sarah Paulson's Cordelia, the show goes down from here, offering up teasers instead of drama.

Michael (Cody Fern) is seen in a forest undergoing some sort of Satanic version of Gethsemane, complete with angel forest children who offer him Fanta--why not Coca Cola?  Why an inferior product?  If that's the best the Devil can do, forget it!!!!!!!!!  Than, when the Anton Lavey wannabe (because no one can play Anton, like Anton!) morphs into some Tony Kushner type angel, I was, like "Get outta here!"
The slow emergence of The Cooperative, headed by bowl headed Evan Peters and Billy Eichner, was flat out frat humor, complete with cocaine, and a demonstration of the Millennial Generation's mass capacity for knowing nothing, save what is in front of them, at the very moment.  A nice, humorous tease, and we get it, but hardly the substance of drama.

The most informative point I learned was how Kathy Bates' Miriam came to be a robot!
Sarah Paulson can hardly miss, but her Miss Wilhemina Venable is nothing more than this generation's version of the career woman.  Once upon a time; it was those like Glenn Close, who hid behind careers when they could not find love, but once the opportunity was there, they would either leap at it, or, like Glenn, as Alex, go bat shit off the wall!

This generation, embodied by Sarah, cares nothing for love, and will have no regrets when their reproductive systems dry up.  Believe me, I have dealt with these types, and they have no capacity for mass humanity at all!  Their jobs are their lives, and their vaginas!  I did not need Sarah to tell me this, but she is so good at it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get the idea we are going backwards, ending where we started, so we can understand how we got there.  Last night offered some stellar star turns, but where is the dramatic substance?

Harriet Harris, as Madeline, was a riot!  But where does she go, from here?  Same with Sandra Bernhard, as Hannah!  Teasers, not characters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ryan and Brad, get your act together!  Please!!!!!!!!!!!

And, Sarah, can we have just one more look, at Hypodermic Sally???????????

The Farea Sisters' Mystery Deepens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have my ideas, dolls!  The Fareas,  Tala, 16, and Rotana, 22, were Saudi Arabians, who had moved to Fairfax, Virginia, with their families, in 2015.  Months ago, the girls had gone to New York, and no one can seem to ponder why.  Maybe it had to do with the fact that they wanted to seek political asylum here.

Which leads me to suspect that this is why they were killed. And, make no mistake about it, they were murdered, and the display of their bodies was meant as a message to to others.  Someone did not want these girls to seek political asylum.

Look to all the males in the sisters' lives--father brother or brothers, boyfriends, uncles, male adult acquaintances.  Somewhere in this circle of males is a killer who wanted to destroy not so much the sisters, as what they wanted to gain--female independence!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Their blood in the Hudson river cries out for justice!

Give it to these sisters, before others seeking asylum face the same fate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One Upper West Side Mystery Solved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When the story broke, last week, that Susan Trott had been murdered, I was certain it was someone she knew.  It was.  Her killer was Anya Johnston, who lived just one floor below Susan, with her mother, and had a history of mental illness.

A blood trail was found leading from both apartments, and some blood was found on a shoe of Anya's.

It seems Anya was trying to burglarize Trott's apartment.  The 70-year-old must have caught her in the act, and a confrontation ensued, resulting in Trott's death.

But what I want to knows is--

Why didn't Mama keep tighter wraps on her disturbed daughter????????????

And how did said daughter gain entrance to Trott's apartment, in
the first place?  Inquiring minds want to know!

Still, the crux of the mystery is solved.  No serial killers, nothing connected to anyone else--just a deranged neighbor.

Geez, even the Castevets were safer than this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bitches Are Coming Out Of The Woodwork!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes, I have weeks, where I have to strain to find someone for this column.  In the last two weeks, though, I cannot keep up.  Feeling much has been said elsewhere about Pittsburgh and the serial bombings, I chose to look further afield, and, boy did I find something.  Forget "Mean Girls," these two are winner of The Raving Queen Bitch Of The Week Award.

The girls, who are 11 and 12 years of age, have not been identified.  But it is not who they are, but what they did and wanted to do that is so disturbing.

On Tuesday, at the Bartow Middle School, in central Florida,--again, Florida; I am telling you, girls, it is fast losing its retirement cred!!!!!!!!--were arrested.  The weekend before, while staying over at one's house, gorging on horror movies, they came up with the idea of killing 15 smaller students at school,  as they--the girls--were Satan worshippers.

The idea was the girls would wait in a bathroom, for smaller students, accost and kill them with weaponry--see above!--they had with them.  They would kill the victims, string them up in the room, dismember and display body parts all over the school, drink their blood out of a goblet, and, lastly, the girls would kill themselves.

What stopped this horror was one of the girls' mothers got a robo call, saying her daughter had skipped school.  So, they were apprehended before anyone was harmed.

Sick bitches!  Who do you think you are?  I hope they get maximum time in a youth facility, and then Life in an adult one.  And, I have said this before, the parents should be indicted for raising such monsters. Don't tell me they had no idea of the depths of these girls' morbid streak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am glad these monsters were caught.

It could have resulted in a real life version of John Carpenter's "Halloween."

It could have happened, girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Beautiful Blend Of Mystery, And Southern Gothic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Delia Owens is as assured a first novelist, as I have come across in some time.  "Where The Crawdads Sing" is a lyrical blend of two genres--Southern Gothic and whodunit thriller.  Chapters are written from different ends, until the whole thing begins to come together.

Kya, the Marsh Girl, aka Catherine Danielle Clark, is one of the strongest, and most fascinating characters in American fiction.   Right on the heels of Carson McCullers, and Harper Lee, Kya is an individual, both proud and yearning, who will have no pity from anyone.  She is to be admired.

Things start to become murky, when town Golden Boy, Chase Andrews, who has been seen, at times, with Kya, goes missing, and is found dead at the bottom of a fire tower, within the marsh.  No footprints, or evidence whatsoever.

Who did it?  I won't tell you, but Chase deserved it.  The means of revelation is priceless, and the book ends as lyrically as it began.

Despite its similarity to other themed works, it has its own sense of lyricism which makes it stand out.  And Kya, one of fiction's best characters in quite awhile.

Those readers, such as I, who squirm at snakes and bugs, can vicariously enjoy jaunts in the marsh, with Kya.

Much safer on the printed page, than in the actual marsh, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"For All The Saints, Who From Their Labors Rest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

This is the day all the saints are honored, not just faves like Bernadette, Mother Teresa, and Jacinta, by ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The hope they inspire in us, the guidance delivered when we turn to them, is recognized on this, their own day.  It takes a lot to be a saint, and most are not cut out for it.  But today we honor those who were, and became such.

Happy All Saints Day, to one and all!

Girls, Can You Believe It Is November, Already??????????????????

Yes, I know it can be a bit depressing, once the time change sets in, and it begins to get dark at 4:30AM.  I never liked that, even as a kid.  But, November is filled with exciting things.

                                    Today is All Saints Day.

                                    Tomorrow is All Souls Day.

                                     The time changes this weekend.

Jonah Hill hosts "Saturday Night Live!"

Musical Theater Week is coming--the 13th to the 18th.

                                     MTW Birthdays--Sammy Williams--November 13.
                                                                   Donna McKechnie--November 16.
                                                                   Martha Plimpton--November 16.
                                                                   Neva Small--November 17.
                                                                   Dorothy Collins--November 18.
And--YOURS TRULY, ON THE SAME DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Visit From Birthday Party Barbie!

                                       Thanksgiving!

The Start Of The Holiday Season!

Of course some sad things too--November 9 being the 80th Anniversary of Kristallnacht, and the day John List murdered his family in Westfield, NJ, back in 1971.

So, darlings, November is anything but a dull month.  Let us recall the fun times it brings, and the memories they will create in years to come.

Wishing you a great November, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
