"I Have A Structured Settlement, And I Need Cash Now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
You know, our own, beloved Baby Gojira, has a structured settlement. But even he was appalled at the ridiculousness of the new J. G. Wentworth commercial.
When they had actors on stage, simulating opera, it was cute, campy and original. But now the ad, but the same concept, has moved to ordinary folk on a Manhattan bus, and it is just so ridiculous. No one on a Manhattan bus, starting with the teens, would tolerate such nonsense, and I, for one, would not blame them.
I love the woman in the beginning, who starts it all, jumping into the camera, as though she were Teresa Stratas!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which she is not! None of them are, as all actors in both ads were dubbed. So, why didn't they just use actors who could sing? The jingle is not that difficult!
Baby Gojira is annoyed, and I do not think he will be calling J. G. Wentworth anytime soon!
But their advertising staff needs to come up with a new concept.
You've tried opera. Now, how about ballet????????????????

So annoying. Until these ads began, I had no idea so many people had Structured Settlements. Must be nice.
Oh and, speaking of opera, I tried to teach the children the Modern Major General song. Pretty hilarious.
That's a great way to teach children patter.
It comes in handy with singing and speech.
But what the hell is a structured settlement?
That's when you receive your payments over time, instead of a lump sum.
For a personal injury claim.
This ad isn't nearly as irritating as the new near-constant Verizon FiOS ad featuring the only obnoxious child actor from the otherwise-brilliant "Stranger Things" series.
The kid, Gaten Matarazzo (no relation to Heather), may be raking in a fortune from the ad right now. But its a huge turn-off to most viewers, squandering whatever goodwill he inexplicably earned via his gratingly quirky performance in Stranger Things. His odd speech pattern is the result of an unfortunate medical condition: while his persistence in becoming an actor despite that affliction should be applauded, Verizon exploiting that condition to make an aggravating "ear-worm" commercial is disgusting.
Victoria,
Thanks for the explanation. I know
nothing about business!
Darling,
I agree about the FIOS ad and that kid.
Have been considering doing a post on it,
but want to see if they use him again,
before doing so.
