To think so much time has gone by, darlings. But every year, this time, I cannot forget Woodstock, nor the impact it still has on me. From trying to get there myself, by walking to the Jersey Turnpike, to finally stepping out onto the stage area, and doing a set of six songs, upon which an audience gathered, back in 2013. And I did it one more time, too, though I forget the year.
Anyone here know the famous Dorothy Parker quote about people being laid end to end? The same applies to those who claim they were at Woodstock. If all who said they were there actually, New York State would be overflooded. Come on, people! Most of us listened to it on the radio, the news, and the subsequent record albums. We wore Woodstock T-shirts and hung Woodstock posters.
So, take some time out of the day to remember this momentous occasion.
Its like will never be seen again.
And what better way to honor this day? Here is Grace Slick, there in 1969, doing "White Rabbit." Still amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
