Do You Know Who This Is???????????????????

If any of my girls out there recognize this woman, well, then they will get a free dinner with yours truly!  The other amazing thing about this woman, who, though it has been 34 years, still looks younger than 60, is that we are both the same age, though she has a few months on me, born  on June 2, of 1954!  I believe she is now working and living in New York City, and is an economics writer for various publications.  She worked as a marketing manager for "The Institutional Investor!!!!!!!!!!!"

Are you ready, girls?????????  This is Jeannine Taylor, famous for her one and only film appearance, but what a role--Marcie Cunningham, in "Friday The 13th."

As Marcie, Jeannine had presence that suggested she might have gone somewhere, had she kept up with acting.  She was the flower child of the camp counselors at Camp Crystal Lake, dressed like she was Shelley Plimpton getting ready to sing "Frank Mills" in "HAIR."

How good was Jeannine as Marcie?  Well, from what I have read on the web, straight guys, talking about the original film, always rate her as the hottest.  Marcie's iconic moment should have been her murder--she gets it right in the face, with an ax.  But there are several other reasons for Marcie being so iconic.

For starters, she has sex with Jack Burrell, played by the only actor from this film who DID go on to other things--Kevin Bacon!!!!!!!!!!!  For another, because of the famous scenes of her running around in panties, she patented this requirement for female horror victims.  And no one looked better in panties than Jeannine as Marcie.  If Jeannine still has those panties, she should donate them to a museum, where thousands would come, just to gaze at film history's most famous white
panties.  Hell, I am no fetishist, but I wish I could wear them!!!!!!!!!!!

Following Jeannine's panties run as Marcie, every female horror victim did this at some time.  Even Kate Hudson, in the abysmal "The Skeleton Key," back in 2005.  But, unlike Kate, Jeannine had talent, which is why we haven't  seen much of Kate in the last nine years.  And then that bitch drove sweet Owen Wilson--we share birthdays, though I am older!!!!--to attempt suicide!  Well, she's finished!  Let's face it, without Goldie Hawn being her mother, she would have gotten nowhere.

But my favorite Marcie moment, which shows Jeannine's prowess as an actress, and those panties, is when she is standing in front of a sink mirror in the cabin where she is about to be murdered, (and where the body of Mark Nelson as the murdered Ned Rubenstein, rests in the bed above them!!!!!!!!!!!) and does this dead-on impersonation of Katherine Hepburn from "The Rainmaker"--"Oh, Lizzie, Lizzie, I said, you'll always be plain!"  This gave Marcie an arc; she was probably counseling as Summer work for college, where she was a drama major, and it showed us Jeannine had some acting chops.

Girls, let me tell you, to this day, I sometimes copy that scene of Jeannine's, which delighted me, ever since I first saw the film. back in 1980.  Wish my panties were as pretty, or I in them!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, here is something else.  In the film, Marcie, Jack and Ned, are like this trio of friends.  At first, I thought maybe Jack and Ned were "sharing" Marcie, but she has too much class for that!  Still, the first time you see them in the film, is the three of them, driving in a car down a country road; a barn and silo in the background.  This was because Jeannine, Kevin, and Ned, all had worked in the soap opera world, and knew each other from there.  So, this friendship was incorporated into the film.

With a screening of the one and only film coming up. on October 23, at the Chelsea, with Hedda Lettuce, (which is a Thursday, at 7PM) I thought it was high time Jeannine/Marcie got her due!  Maybe she could make a special guest appearance there!!!!!!!!!!  Wouldn't that be great??????????  All us fans  would go wild!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                                       We love you, Jeannine/Marcie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
