Girls, Join Us Tomorrow Evening As Svengoolie Presents A Seldom Seen Treat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not talking about art, darlings,  but entertainment.

Back in the Sixties, I loved "The Munsters" on TV. never missing an episode.  I even had a "Munsters Card Game," from  Milton Bradley.  But, when this film came out, my parents still had a say in what I saw in the theater.  So I never got a chance to see this.

Oh, don't worry!  I  got over it!  But I cannot tell you how all of us in Bay Ridge are looking forward to this comedy tomorrow night!  And look  at the cast!  Terry Thomas and Hermione  Gingold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alas, why couldn't "The Munsters" keep their Marilyns?  The first season,  it was Beverly Owen.  The rest of the run it was Pat Priest.  But here in this film, it is Debbie Watson!!!!!  Remember her from "Karen" and "Tammy," darlings??????????????????????

This should be a real campfest!  So, join the fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And we just LOVE Yvonne De Carlo best, girls!  Because, she went on to do "FOLLIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The Space Monster Was Kinda Cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Frankenstein Meets The Space Monster," shown last Saturday on "Svengoolie," was fun, but not as campy or bad as I was expecting. The Frankenstein element of it made sense, but other facets of the film fascinated me.

Like, how could a war on Mars wipe out only the women, which is why the Princess  and her staff came to Earth--to hunt down not only women, but exclusively bikini clad  beauties?????????????????

Did you know this film is 65% stock footage, and only 35% actual movie?????????  No wonder I felt somewhat cheated.

The monsters' name was Mull, (no relation to Martin, darlings!) which I got a kick out of, as he should have been named Null.  This in reference to the empty set, or  the  Null set,  which is the only thing I retained from  Mr.  Barber's eighth grade math class--nine months of my time on earth wasted.  Not to mention he was one of two "Mr. Karps" that year--he and Mr. Frankowsky, also eighth grade.  He taught science.

You can learn much more from "Frankenstein Meets The Space Monster," darlings, and have a better time, besides.

And remember to always carry plenty of sun screen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday To The Power Engine Who REALLY Runs New York!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, darlings, I know Eric Adams was just elected yesterday, but that is just a symbol.  Today is  the birthday of Anna Wintour.  That's right--ANNA.  And she is who really runs this city!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At 72, nothing seems to stop ANNA.  I hope I look as good as she, when I reach that age.

I am  sure there will be a huge birthday gathering for her at Balthazar's.  Were I more  comfortable about indoor eating, I would join  it.

So, Happy Birthday Anna, from The Raving Queen, and all  his girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                               You keep things going,  darling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy All Souls Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday, the saints were honored; today it is the friends and relatives we have lost, and our forthcoming passages.  I dislike the Mexicans naming it the "Day Of The Dead," which has no dignity,  and sounds more like the title  of a George Romero movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a day to reflect on ourselves,  and those who have gone before us.  Not that reflection can't be done anytime.  But in all fairness, the saints have their day, the souls have the other.

Grant us all eternal peace, when the time comes,  Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Honorary Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Betsy Palmer left us awhile ago; if alive today, she would be 95.  And wouldn't we be lucky to have Mrs. Voorhees still with us?

Really, it is a shame Blairstown, NJ doesn't cash in on the "Friday The 13th" fascination.  The diner could feature Pamela Voorhees Specials.  There could even be a "Mrs. Voorhees Cookbook."  What  kind of tasty morsels????? Hmmmmmm......Fried Barry and Claudette??????????

And all due to Betsy Palmer's giftedness as an actress.

Long  gone, never forgotten, Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy All Saints Day, Darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bernadette, Jacinta, and the whole Canonized Crowd--this is the day we honor and acknowledge them all.  Like the hymn says, "For all the saints, who from their labors rest...." this is a day to appreciate  those who suffered for us, and inspire us.  And not just canonized saints, but there are living saints who walk among us, every day.  Like Sister Camille D'Arienzo, and Doctor Anthony Fauci.

I know two people whose birthday this is--a former coworker, and the youngest of my cousins; the youngest of the Hearn grandchildren, in fact, though we are all pretty much getting up there.

Praise to the saints,  and may they continue to guide us!

Some, like  I, need it! Because we cannot ALL be saints!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Wishes To Everyone This Month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Admittedly, I have a personal relationship with this month, as it was the one I was born in.  But so were lots  of others, as shall be seen, as well as two legendary show openings.

You know the phrase, in  "The Night Before Christmas," "As dry leaves, before the wild hurricane fly?"  I associate that phrase more with November than December.  Though it applies to the poem brilliantly.

I still have time to break my record  of  115 books read.  Wish me luck, girls.  And the damn New York  Times is doing  their Ten Best Books List Of 2021 on November 30--but virtually!  So, I may not  know till early December.

But there is much to look forward to, and, hopefully, some enjoyable and exciting surprises!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                                         Welcome to November, everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
