Girls, isn't this exciting and inspiring? First, we had Flaco, now we have Astoria.
The Wild Turkey is named such because she was first spotted in that section of Queens, but has flown all over the city, Rosevelt Island, but is partial to the Battery and Midtown.
I hope she does not end up the way Flaco did. She is a beautiful bird, very elegant looking, and determined to evade capture. This turkey is not going to end up on anyone's dinner table!
So, everyone give a big hello to Astoria, and say hello to her if she happens to perch on your windowsill

A heartwarming post! I agree turkey are very pretty and stunning birds. And they can actually bond very closely with one human. I hope she does good too, and people don't pester her.
