Now, in "AHS:NYC" Lourd plays Doctor Hannah Wells, a biologist investigating a mysterious illness in gay men, said to be contracted by the deer on Fire Island. All viewers in retrospect know this is a precursor to AIDS, and Lourd plays the scientist/activist with conviction and compassion. However, having read Randy Shilt's book, "And The Band Played On" several times, I can tell you the illness started with monkeys in Africa. So, what is Ryan Murphy up to?
Now, in the "American Horror Stories" episode, "Ba'al," Lourd played a character named Liv Whitley. Are you kidding me? Oh, come on! There has to be a connection.
Are Hannah and the Mai Tai killer related in some way? How about his mother, who drove him to this; let's get her into the story, because serial killers are not born, but made.
Such plot threads would lend some credibility to an already senseless mixture of sexual exploitation and sensationalism. And I still say something is up with Patrick played by Russell Tovey. There is more to him than what was discovered last week.
The only way is to tune in tonight. But don't be too disappointed.
