I am certain most of you have seen this film. I especially love Lenore Aubert's blend of warmth and sinister as Dr. Sandra Mornay.
But this is also a sad film. It is actually a farewell parade to the first generation of Universal monsters. This would be the last time Bela Lugosi played Dracula, and Lon Chaney The Wolf Man. I am sure they wanted Boris Karloff for the Frankenstein Monster, which would have completed the trio, but I am sure he turned it down. Glenn Strange does a great job with the limitations he is given, but for those of us who know, Karloff will always be The Monster.
The film is fun and predictable, with interesting sets and special effects. After this film came the second generation of Universal monsters, many of whom were gigantic.
Still, this 1948 parade makes for a fun evening.
But what we all want to know is what film Sventoonie will deconstruct.
The only way to find out, is to tune in, darlings. See you then, and let's hope Sventoonie picks a gem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy viewing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I too noticed the Final Farewell aspect
Victoria,
Yes, it was very touching.
Did you notice--I never did before--that
when Dracula was attacking Sandra Mornay,
his reflection was seen in the mirror.
Vampires do not cast reflections in
mirrors. Someone goofed!
Oh wow I missed that blooper!!
Victoria,
This was my very first time I saw it.
And Svengoolie pointed it out!
