Girls, if you haven't yet discovered Barbara Pym, you really must. She is a twentieth century version of Jane Austen, with village life, church ladies, domestics, tea shops, constant cups thereof being poured....it is like immersing oneself in another world. And when it is done, one does not want to leave.
And, dolls, Barbara does Jane one better. She inserts into this novel an open relationship between two gay men! That's right, darlings! And they set an excellent tea!!!!!!!!!!!!
However, there are a whole slew of Pym novels, so one can return to this world whenever one wants.
But don't let it stop you from having a cuppa, darlings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started with “Excellent Women”
Wry British humor at its finest!!
Victoria,
I know I have read two of Pym's books prior to this but cannot recall which ones. So, when I found this pile in a kiosk, I brought it home, and if I reread any, so be it. Besides she is worth a second read.
